Loki Series Review

Loki Series Review

Loki is a brand new series on Disney+. It has been streaming since July 9 on weekly basis. It is directed by Kate Herron and stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, and Sophia Di Martino. All six episodes of this series are now available on Disney+.

As you know from the Avengers Endgame, Loki escapes from the captivity of the Avengers with the help of space stone. This incident unintentionally creates an alternate reality. The series follows the journey of Loki, the god of mischief, where he faces the consequences of his escape.

After seeing Loki for the past ten years, I thought I knew this character very well. Similarly, since Marvel has developed this character, I thought they would not spend time developing this character either. In this show, Marvel delved deeper into his character telling us we all never knew Loki perfectly. It certainly is true. This series let us get to know him in a better way. Obviously, the credit goes to the writers but the man who played this character is no less. Tom Hiddleston has given his best performance in this series. He proved that no other actor can portray this character as he did in the show.

Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino also deserve appreciation for playing their respective roles. Owen Wilson played Mobius, whereas Sophia Di Martino played Sylvie in the series. Even though their character has not been explored much, everything feels legitimate. Their characters and their contribution to the story are dominant.

The show is overloaded with amazing visual effects. These are the best visual effects I have seen in a series till now. The landscapes of different planets captured with extreme long shots are gorgeous. These elements enhance the quality of the series in terms of visuals. There are no words to explain, so, I request you see those by yourselves.

You may feel a teeny-weeny issue of pacing in some episodes but it never slows down the story. It is because those episodes focus more on character development and their encounter with each other. It’s the fourth episode when the show starts getting intense every moment. The mystery keeps you scratching your head and unfolds itself as you move forward with the story.

The sixth episode is the best episode of this series as it teases the future of the MCU. Even though WandaVision started phase four of the MCU in the first place, the Loki series has built the base for the events that are going to take place in the future. Therefore, you must watch this series if you are a true fan of Marvel movies.

Loki was one of my most anticipated shows of this year. We all have been seeing this character since 2011 when the first movie of Thor came out. He was one of the most important characters of the MCU, yet he remains the supporting character in the movies. I am pleased that he has got his standalone series to shine as the lead character. Likewise, I am happy to say it truly lived up to my expectation.

Since Loki Series is the base for phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it inevitably becomes a must-watch series for all of you. There are a lot of surprises awaiting you to reveal themselves. If you haven’t watched the series till now, you should this series right now. Visit IMDb for more information about Loki Series.
